Conveniently situated next door to The Brewery is The Montcalm at The Brewery London City. This exceptional grade II listed building opened in April 2011 and has been stunningly restored into a luxury five star hotel, whilst preserving the heritage values of the original 17th century building.

The Montcalm  at The Brewery London City has 235 beautifully appointed rooms, reflecting a mix of heritage and contemporary aspects all with the luxurious amenities expected of a 5* hotel including; a butler service for the suites and studios, an Executive Club Lounge, 24hrs room service, an iPod docking station and over 40 satellite TV Channels in all the rooms. The stylish en-suite bathrooms have Gessi rain showers and offer either Elemis or Bulgari amenities. High-speed wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. There are two excellent restaurants at the hotel, The Chiswell Street Dining Rooms and The Jugged Hare. Traditional afternoon tea can be taken in either the lobby or The Chiswell Street Dining Rooms.

Across the street from the hotel is the London City Suites by The Montcalm, an intimate and boutique townhouse that is ideal for longer staying guests. For families, there are interconnecting rooms and longer staying guests benefit from the kitchenettes.

The hotel was formerly the site of Whitbread & Co, Britain’s first purpose-built mass production brewery. The original building dates back from as early as 1750 when Samuel Whitbread moved his brewing operations to Chiswell Street on the ‘eastern rim of Georgian London’. The last beer brewed there was in 1976, when the site was then turned into Whitbread PLC’s Head Office and the City of London’s leading Conference & Banqueting Centre, The Brewery.
