About us

From the West End to the City, and beyond to trend-setting Shoreditch, The Montcalm Luxury Hotels exude a timeless appeal a little like that of London itself. It's a place where the classic and the contemporary co-exist, and where often, the one informs the other. Similarly, there's a craftsmanship to the way we create the Montcalm experience that transcends time. It means an uncompromising commitment to quality, and an understated style that never goes out of fashion. You'll sense it in the simple sophistication of a stay at the Montcalm. With effortless elegance, everything just feels right, without trying too hard.

Each hotel in the collection is individual in style, but all are distinguished by a dedication to bespoke service and a culture of innovation that continually enhances the guest experience. With acclaimed restaurants and bars, state-of-the-art spas, intelligent technology and advanced business facilities, the Montcalm experience epitomises next generation London luxury.

The Montcalm at the Brewery preserves a precious part of the City of London's heritage, while breathing new life into an exceptional grade II listed building. The result is one of London's most original luxury hotels a five star stay with a story. Formerly the site of Whitbread & Co, Britain's first purpose-built mass production brewery, the original building dates back to the mid-eighteenth century when Samuel Whitbread moved his brewing operations to Chiswell Street on the eastern rim of Georgian London. The last beer was brewed here in 1976, when the site became Whitbread PLC's Head Office and the City of London's leading Conference & Banqueting Centre, The Brewery.

Where once the country's most popular beer was brewed, today's discerning travellers enjoy 235 beautifully appointed rooms, two buzzing bars and restaurants and a comfortable Club lounge. And just across the street from the hotel are the The Barbican Rooms, an intimate boutique townhouse ideal for longer stay guests.
