British Summer Time is a festival which runs over July in Hyde Park, bringing some of the biggest names in pop music centre stage and to crowds of thousands. BBC’s Proms in the Park is another Hyde Park based music festival, this time with a classical edge. Running from July till September, classical orchestras and musicians get their time to shine at a festival designed for the more refined music lover. Somerset House, just across the river from South Bank is home to a gallery all year round and an ice rink during the winter. During the summer months, you can find talks, live music and DJ’s performing as well as film screenings, all in the open air and with a bar kitted out and ready to go. Whether you’re looking for a film hot off the festival trail or the next big blockbuster.
A short journey from Shoreditch, home to the Montcalm Hotel London City, Visions Festival is an inner-city music all-dayer based in the Hackney and London Fields area. This festival brings the best in forward thinking music to a range of great venues across East London. You never know, you might find your next favourite singer or band.
Notting Hill Carnival is a West London party weekend on the 26th and 27th of August this year. Occurring over the Bank Holiday, this festival celebrates the West Indian community of the area as well as being a huge celebration of Black British culture. The festival brings free parades and music as well as ticketed events for some of the biggest names in hip hop and dance music.
