The Serpentine is one of the largest triathlons and running clubs in Britain. The most exciting part is that these races are open for all to attend and out of 1195 members, 40 percent are women! Serpentine Last Friday of the Month 5k

  • Serpentine hosts a five-kilometre lunchtime race on the last Friday of every month. From January to May, there’s a one-lap course around the Serpentine Lake and a two-lap course around the Meadows area of the park from June to December.   • The race has a 35-minute time limit and is held as per the UK athletics rule. The minimum age for girls and boys to participate is 11 years. Serpentine New Year’s Day 10k

  • Now that you have reserved your stay at one of the luxury hotels for families, you must know that not only is the 10-kilometre Serpentine race a great way to start the new year but there’s also a three-kilometre run for children or the swimmers who wish to start a smaller lap course!
  • The New Year’s Day 10-kilometre race starts at 11 am in Hyde Park through traffic-free paths with a majority of the race taking place in Kensington Gardens.
  • Runners are supposed to complete two short laps in Kensington Gardens before they make a return to Hyde Park. The race ends on the North side of Serpentine by the Boat House.
  • If you’re planning to participate, through the course of the race you’ll pass by iconic London landmarks like Kensington Palace, Henry Moore, and Italian Gardens.
  • All entries for the race are accepted only in advance and not on the same day as the race. 650 runners take part in the race, making it one of the much-awaited events in the capital city.
  • The 10-kilometre racecourse is accurately measured with the UKA certificate of course accuracy and is held as per the UKA rules.
  • The New Year’s Day 10-kilometre race also features chip timing, and all the races offer renowned Serpentine marshals and support.

All adult runners are also welcome to attend one of the social runs on Wednesday or Saturday and learn more interesting facts about the race as they meet and chat with existing club members.
