7 GREAT THINGS TO DO ON A FIRST VISIT TO LONDON

Whether in the city for a day or visiting for the week, there is a range of events which are specially designed for London first-timers. Whether it’s a shopping experience which only London could offer, a deep dive into the city’s history or a thrilling adventure, there is plenty on offer in London to give you the perfect introduction to the UK capital. Borough Market

Borough Market is one of the most historic market areas int eh city. With links back to the medieval era, Borough market is currently a food market just to the West of the South Bank and next to London Bridge Station. With a wide range of restaurants and bars surrounding the indoor market area, this is a foodie’s dream, bringing a wide range of international cuisines to the forefront of the London experience.

Tower of London

This medieval fortress was once a royal’s private zoo, the last defence of London, a prison for the Kray Twins and currently the resting place of the crown jewels. With such a gaudy history and a range of incredible features, the Tower of London is a must for any first-timer in the city.

Museum Row

Museum Row is a street in South Kensington where three different, incredibly famous museums are based. This is the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum of Design. If you are looking for a great way to see some of the most priceless artefacts in the city for free, then Museum Row is the perfect spot for you. What’s more, all three museums are free to enter their permanent exhibits and are suitable for all ages due to their interactive and informative exhibits.

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is located to the West of London Bridge and leads almost straight to the Tower of London. This iconic drawbridge consists of 65-metre-high twin towers which can be crossed by a glass floored footpath. This bridge gives you a brilliant view of the city scape and is also one of the most iconic bridges in the world.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is in West London and is made of hundreds of acres of green space. Here you’ll find a wide range of attractions which change throughout the year, bringing thousands of tourists each day to its beautiful lake, cutting edge art galleries and luscious plat life.

Primrose Hill

For great views of the city and a perfect picnic spot, Primrose Hill is a beautiful spot to the North of Regents Park. With its amazing 50-foot hill and prime views over the central London cityscape, Primrose Hill is one of the most romantic spots for a picnic.

South Bank

A trip to the South Bank is a trip to the heart of the city. Here you have a range of arts venues, restaurants, bars and market spaces, making a multifunctional and incredibly exciting spot to visit, whatever the season.
